Bring the carefree summer vibe to your home with a table arrangement inspired by a flower meadow! Liz will show you how to create a foam free “trough” style table arrangement using locally grown flowers that best capture the feel of a fleeting Minnesota summer: big blousy blooms, dancing grasses, and lots and lots of texture. She will give a short demonstration on basic mechanics and guide you if you need help along the way. All supplies are included in the class fee.
Note: no flowers from the wild will be used in this workshop…all are sustainably cultivated on Liz’s farm for floral purposes.
Elegant or whimsical, natural or bold; explore your own style while learning about picking flowers from your own garden for bouquets, handling flowers for long vase life, and how to finish a bouquet to give it that professional look for sharing with others.
There is nothing like flowers to bring joy and make memories…bring a friend or family member (one ticket per person) or make some new friends at this small, personalized event.
Liz comes from a long farming tradition, but is taking that love of the land in a different direction with her budding flower business, View of Heaven Flower Farm.
Many flowers are often shipped thousands of miles to get to the stores, but these beauties are transported a mere 20 miles from View of Heaven Flower Farm to the Thompson Family Farm. Liz is based in Lonsdale.
Liz loves waking up in the early hours of the morning to gather armloads of scented blooms and manages to sneak as many bouquets into her own house as possible.
What to expect:
Early bird cost is $65, now through July 31st. After July 31st the cost will increase to $70 per ticket.
The workshop includes all supplies needed to create your own unique take-home bouquet with local flowers.
You can expect the flower arranging to take around 1 1/2 hours We will start each class promptly to make sure we have enough time to design.
This event takes place during the Thompson Family Farm Market. You are welcome to do some shopping before or afterward.
Kids welcome! If designing their own bouquet, they will need a separate ticket. If your child is not designing their own bouquet, be sure they are supervised at all times as the flowers can be quite delicate.
No dogs, please.
